Breyton Company History

For the owner of Breyton Design GmbH, Edmund Breyton, autotechnic and autodesign were merely his favourite hobbies whilst studying IT! But it soon became clear that he could not evade his passion for automobile tuning. In 1982, two years after the completion of his IT studies, he founded the engineering office "EBS" in Stockach. At first the company focussed on development contracts and design studies for several automobile tuners and manufacturers, notably AMG and BMW.
The rapid growth of EBS allowed Edmund Breyton to establish a product sales program and in 1985 he released his first own design range of aerodynamic parts.
The beginning of 1987 saw development and production of alloy wheel rims. The high demand for engine tuning and performance parts made it possible to develop and offer performance optimised vehicle tuning kits.
High rate of growth in multiple business areas required more space. In 1986 the company was renamed and Breyton Design GmbH moved to a new 6000sqm facility. Since 1992, aerodynamic parts, alloy wheel rims and motor tuning have been offered for all current BMW models. In 2000, 57 % of a Swiss motor smithy were taken over and renamed "Breyton Swiss".
The result of this cooperation made Breyton an industry leader in engine tuning and turbo compressor technology, culminating in the fastest BMW 3 Series in the world (520bhp/528PS). The car used Brreyton developed chassis, stabilizers and exhaust system. The enormous increase in demand for high quality and exclusive alloy wheels resulted in an focus shift to the development of alloys.
Breyton Design GmbH as a tuning company today has the biggest range of designs and specifications of all the BMW tuners. The key to success is based on the high standards that Breyton demand of both itself and its suppliers.
Like other successful tuning companies, International success does not stay away. New trading areas are constantly being added to the existing important markets in the USA and Japan. More than 20 Worldwide importers are an indisputable evidence for that.
